• • According to Buddhist tradition, when Prince Siddhartha was born, celestial beings poured fragrant water over him. Scudder Falls Zen’s Buddha’s birthday celebration will include an opportunity for participants to pour water over the shoulders of a baby Buddha statue to reinforce the teachings of humility, mindfulness, and self-improvement. 
  • In addition to Buddha’s birthday, we will also be celebrating the one year anniversary of Scudder Falls Zen. Our teachers and sangha will be holding Refuge and Precept ceremonies along with promotions within the sangha.
